The primary objectives of the BRAVO initiative are as follows:

1. Encourage members to present their work at a reputable conference.
2. Support junior members to build and refine their CVs through presentations.
3. Cultivate a culture of sharing knowledge and networking among peers.
4. Help highlight the importance of publishing/presenting scientific work.

There are several annual conferences in the field of paediatrics and child health and wellbeing

that offer excellent platforms for professionals to meet and present their work. By presenting in these meetings, as a junior doctor, healthcare professional or a professional in the field of education and social care you get the opportunities for networking, keeping up to date with evidence based practice and showcasing your work to your colleagues and peers in a national/international platform. This will help junior members in particular to achieve better outcomes in their career progression. BSAPCH would like, as part of its aims and objectives, to encourage its members to excel and support them to be able to sharpen their skills in this domain.

The Terms and Conditions

• Only full members can compete for the prize of this initiative.
• Junior members will have the priority for this prize.
• The applicant will be asked to present a proof of acceptance or presentation.
• No eligible member can apply for the initiative for two years/conferences in a row, but can apply on alternate years. This is to give the opportunity to a large number of members to benefit from this initiative.
• The application for the award ends by the 30th of September of each year and the results to be published by the 1st of December of the same year.
• Applications made by the 30th of September for each year cover the scientific work accepted for conference presentation for the preceding 12 months.
• The judging sub-committee is to be selected and agreed on by the BSAPCH executive committee and can include experts who are not members of the association.
• Different conferences may have different impact values and this will be considered during the selection process.
• BSAPCH does not interfere in the process of abstract preparation, editing and submission to the relevant conferences which will be the responsibility of the applicant.
• The initiative will pay a defined financial prize for the winning authors which can be used to compensate for the expenses of the conference. The sum of the prize is to be agreed on by the EC and can change every year accordingly.
• BSAPCH reserves the right to withdraw/withhold this initiative without notice if required at any time.
